First in Midnight’s Promise: an exclusive four-part e-serial by New York Times bestselling author Donna Grant

A new tale of The Dark Warriors—powerful Highlanders who are bound by the gods have brought their ancient battle to the modern world, where a woman’s love is the most dangerous lure of all…

Malcolm is a Highland Warrior–fierce, powerful, unstoppable–living among us.  Tormented by the god bound inside of him and haunted by the darkness he fights to keep at bay.  He has kept himself apart, even from others of his kind.  That is, until he sees…her.  Evelyn is a woman of stunning beauty, brains and determination, who is searching for answers to her own mysterious past. But he also recognizes a loneliness in her and a desire to be awakened.  He should stay away from her at all costs, but the powerful, sensual pull she has over him is too much for him to resist…even if it means that she will discover things about him that he wants to keep buried.

Reviewer’s Thoughts

I have to admit I wasn’t sure how I would handle reading a book in installments instead of all in one shot. Normally I would consider myself too impatient to handle waiting for the next installment well. Boy, you learn something new every day. Not only did I read the first installment of Midnight’s Promise and not want to tear out my hair over the fact that it obviously ends just when it’s getting good, but I enjoyed it so much I was sitting on pins and needles waiting for the second installment.

I’ve always had a soft spot for Malcolm. Yes, I know, he turned evil and killed so many. But he did it for a good reason. Now it looks as if after centuries of feeling nothing, Malcolm has finally met his match. Evie is not intimidated by his size nor is she frightened by his many scars. And apparently Evie is exactly what Malcolm needs but doesn’t want, someone who makes him feel. And he can’t seem to escape from her since she’s always on his mind.

I can’t wait to see where Grant is taking the relationship between these characters!
