17571908The third sexy novel in USA TODAY bestselling author Alice Clayton’s playful and erotic Redhead series continues the sizzling romance between actress Grace Sheridan and Hollywood’s hottest leading man Jack Hamilton.

Grace has landed the lead in a new TV series—but when the director asks her to lose fifteen pounds, she goes public with her weight struggles and suddenly develops a huge fan club who support her right to have curves. But between that and the public’s continuing fascination with her “are they or aren’t they” relationship with Jack, Grace begins to wonder if anyone’s really interested in her because of her upcoming TV series, or if it’s all speculation about the size of her ass and her bedroom partner.

Meanwhile, Jack is voted the Sexiest Man Alive and becomes a little too enamored with the party-hard lifestyle. Grace vows to give him the space he needs to find himself, but then he begins to spiral down from lovable Brit to Hollywood brat. People are talking, but are Jack and Grace? Her career is on the rise, and his continues into the stratosphere, but will she be able to catch him if he falls? Will they ever be able to just be a couple who can hold hands when they walk down the street?

Reviewer’s Thoughts

I adore the Redhead Series.  I have said this in other reviews, but it’s worth mentioning again.  Alice Clayton has created a couple and their group of friends that manage to worm their way into your hearts and you can’t let them go.  They make you laugh, make you angry and sometimes make you cry, but you love them just the same.

THE REDHEAD PLAYS HER HAND picks up as Grace begins filming the cable TV show based on the musical she had been in, while Jack heads to the Mojave to film a war movie.  Their relationship is solid, despite the fact they are still pretending like they’re not in a relationship.

In the previous book, Grace was on the one that fell to the pressures of having a relationship with Jack as his star rises.  But this time, it’s Jack that caves to the pressure.  He hates the intrusiveness of the press and that they’re the reason he can’t tell everyone Grace is his.  He hates how Grace is in the press because of the issues she’s having with her producers over fifteen pounds.  And he questions whether his choice of professions is worth all the trouble.  Jack doesn’t choose the best methods to deal with all of this and it causes some serious issues between himself and Grace.  But what was different this time was Grace not giving up.

Jack was always the more mature of the two, despite the nine years age difference.  But Grace is growing and as she does, she takes a moment to think before flying off into crazyland, like she did before.  She tries to talk to Jack about what she’s seeing, where before she would have locked it away never to be heard from again.  And when things get to a bad place, she’s right there for Jack.  Supporting him, no matter what.

There is a lot of emotion and some pretty gritty stuff that happens in this installment of the series, but that doesn’t mean the light hearted moments are there.  They are.  But it’s nice to see this couple that I adore so much is growing and as they do, their relationship does too.

Another fantastic read by an author that is now on my auto-buy list.

About the Author

Alice Clayton is a new novelist with an unholy love for her Kitchenaid mixer. Making her home in St Louis, she enjoys gardening but not weeding, baking but not cleaning up afterwards, and is trying desperately to get her long time boyfriend to make her an honest woman. Hi sweetie!!

After working for years in the cosmetics industry as a makeup artist, esthetician, and national educator for a major cosmetics company, Alice picked up a pen (read laptop) for the first time at 33 to begin a new career, writer. Having never written a thing before, she found writing was the creative outlet she had been missing since walking away from the theater 10 years ago. Combining her love of storytelling with a sense of silly, she was shocked and awed to be nominated for a Goodreads Author award in 2010 for her debut novels, The Redhead Series.

Alice has penned two novels, The Unidentified Redhead and The Redhead Revealed, and thinks you should purchase them immediately. She’s not kidding, not even a little bit. Everyone needs some comedic erotica in their lives. She is hard at work on the third book in The Redhead Series which will be out Spring of 2013 which will continue the saucy and sexual escapades of everyone’s favorite couple, Jack and Grace. She has another new release coming up soon in November of 2012, all new characters, all new story, but same brand of smutty hilarity.

Additionally, Alice loves spending time with her besties on notyourmotherspodcast.com, make sure you check them out on iTunes. 3 women rushing towards their forties still acting like teenagers. A saucy little mix of sex, love, relationships, pop cultural, celebrity gossip and All Things Jake Ryan.

Alice enjoys pickles, Bloody Mary’s, 8 hours of sleep, and a good pounding.

Finally Alice would also like all her readers and listeners to help her convince her long time boyfriend that the only other thing that would make her truly happy is finally bringing home a Bernese Mountain Dog. She is totally serious. And done talking about herself in the third person…
