A two-volume collection featuring Into the Night and Man Around the House—two early classic romances by New York Times bestselling author Cindy Gerard, now available again in eBook!

Into the Night –Winner of the National Reader’s Choice Award!
It began as a gimmick to promote their new radio show, but the spirited sparring between Jessie Fox and Tony Falcone soon has listeners demanding to know more about their steamy romance. Jessie swears that the fire burning in Tony’s eyes can’t be real—until he sets a seductive trap she can’t escape. Can Tony persuade Jess he’s never letting her go?

With an irresistible blend of humor, passion, and a bit of suspense, Cindy Gerard creates a memorable love story to cherish.

Man Around the House –Winner of the Colorado Romance Writers Award of Excellence and a RITA Award Finalist!

Answering his neighbor’s cry for help, Matthew Spencer finds himself rescuing a sassy blue-eyed temptress. Katie McDonald is a walking disaster who falls off ladders into his arms and awakens his hunger with the speed of a summer storm, and her infectious spirit has him rediscovering the joy in life.

Matthew makes her feel too much, want more than she can have, and dare to dream of being loved, but Katie knows she’s all wrong for a man with a child. Despite the passion between them, Matthew needs someone nice and normal, not wild and reckless. And once he learns her deeply buried sorrow, can he love her for all time? An unmatchable blend of tenderness, humor, and light suspense as only Cindy Gerard can write it!

Reviewer’s Thoughts:

When I started this two-volume book, I fully expected to be reading two dated books; after all, these books are a collection first published in the early 90s. Instead I ended with mixed emotions, as is usually the case in books such as this one.

In Into The Night, gives us Jessie and Tony, two strong radio personalities whose on-air chemistry continues off air. Their fledgling May-December relationship is threatened when a crazed fan focuses his attention on Jessie. Gerard keeps you guessing as to who the crazed fan really is, while never once sacrificing any of the storyline of the evolving romance between the main characters. Both Jessie and Tony’s characters are very well developed. Gerard even went as far as giving some emotional and personal background to the characters so we, the readers, know what makes them tick. I would love for Into The Night to have been a bit longer so we could really see how Jessie and Tony make their relationship work. Definitely 5 cocktails on this one!

This however, is not the case in Man Around the House. Here we have a poor widower who lost everything after his wife passes away and is finally back on his feet working to get his life back together for his son. That sounds like the bases for a great story. Where it flounders though is in the heroine. Here Gerard did not seem to take the time to fully develop the character. As much as I loved Matthew and little Joey, I found myself wanted to smack Katie. Although accident-prone Katie is great for a few laughs, her emotional maturity of a 14-year-old experiencing love for the first time grows tiresome after the first couple of chapters. I honestly wanted to enjoy this second story, but I found myself just looking forward to it ending. Only 3 cocktails on this one.

So there you have it, a bit of a mixed review. Would I recommend it? Of course! Into The Night is very much worth the read. Man Around the House… not so much.
