Review: Power Play – Emily Cale

Natalie Fritz didn’t need a night of sexual adventure as payment for setting her friend up, but she wouldn’t turn it down either. Determined to make sure she gets exactly what she wants, she makes a call to Madame Eve and requests not one, but two dates for the evening. What she doesn’t expect is for those men to be players on her friend’s hockey team.
Ian and Todd find that sharing women provides all parties with more pleasure. Finding someone who buys into their theory is a little harder. So they turn to Madame Eve’s 1 Night Stand service to find them a partner. When they meet Natalie, they discover a gorgeous woman who turns them on physically and intellectually.
Everyone knows that relationships are meant to be between two people, but what happens when it takes three to make the night worthwhile? Can they take a leap of faith or will their time be limited to one night?

Reviewer’s Thoughts:

A One Night Stand series book, Power Play was a short, quick read, yet Ms. Cale still managed to embed a connection between the characters. Right away, Natalie felt comfortable with the two men. In some visceral way, she knew she could trust them. Good thing too since she just spent the money to have two complete strangers show up for a night of wild sex. But the connection wasn’t one sided. Ian and Todd felt the attraction from the moment they laid their eyes on Natalie. So is it any wonder that this lead to a long night, which included very little time spent sleeping, for all three?
A little unsure and a lot embarrassed, Natalie Fritz finds herself with not one, but two, really big and very hot men whose express purpose for one night is to make all her naughty fantasies come true. Come morning they all go there separate ways and no one need ever find out that she had acted on this ultimate secret fantasy. What she didn’t expect when they showed up was two of her best friend’s teammates. Especially since she most definitely avoids ever dating hockey players. What ensues is a story that, although short on romance, still manages to be sweet as Ian and Todd try to prove to her that not all hockey players are macho chauvinists only concerned with their next conquest and in how many ways they can share the details in the locker room.
If you have an hour or so to spare (less so if you want me to be honest) and are looking for a quick, hot read I would definitely suggest picking this up. If you’re looking for something with a little more body to it and a lot more to the story line, I’d suggest going down a different route.

  1. I’ve been trying to finish a VERY long series for a while now. I love these little novellas because I feel like I accomplish something when I read them. Lol. Especially when I’ve been working on finishing the same 1000 page book for like 10 days. Its a nice break for me to read a little novella & then go back to trying to finish the long series. I added this to my TBR list. Thx!!!
