Reviewer’s Thoughts:

This second installment in the Blackstone Affair series is definitely one to pick up.  Told in Ethan’s point of view, we get a look into the mind of our sexy hero as he deals with his break up with Brynne, his feelings for her and what he plans to do to get her back in his life.

At the end of Naked, Brynne had broken things off with Ethan after she discovered he was hired by her father to protect her.  Ethan can understand her feelings of betrayal, but he also knows that he loves her and can’t imagine his life without her.  When Brynne finally let’s Ethan back in, his insecurities about her staying with him and the trauma of his time serving in Afghanistan gives us a vulnerable Alpha male who has a hard time dealing with his overabundance of feelings.  In my opinion, it makes Ethan more endearing and lovable.

Brynne opens up more, unwillingly, about her past the assault that had her coming to London for a fresh start.  As she lets Ethan in, the honesty about her past helps her realize that Ethan is with her for the person she is and not based on being paid by her father for protection.  Once she realizes that, she’s more willing to let Ethan take charge when he needs to and not run when she’s mad at him.

We also get to meet Ethan and Brynne’s family in this installment.  While I enjoyed the interaction between Ethan and his father and Emily with hers, it’s Ethan’s cousin Ivan that is to die for.  Baron Rothvale definitely has a story and I’m hoping we get more of him in the final installment to the Blackstone Affair.

I loved this installment, especially with it being in Ethan’s voice.  I can’t wait for the final story and to finally get Ethan and Brynne’s HEA.
