Reviewer’s Thoughts

In DEADLY TARGET Mikayla is an elite sniper working for Mac Securities and IAD, these companies specialize in security and under the radar intelligence. There are few females working in this field dominated by macho males. Mikayla is apprehensive about relationships because most men have a difficult time excepting what she does for a living. She is injured during an assignment and is forced to take time to recover at an isolated cabin in Serenity, Colorado. It is there she first meets Gage.

Gage Stark is a former action film star who left Hollywood, and now runs Stark Stunts, Inc. on his large ranch training other actors in fighting, horseback riding and surviving in the wilderness. He is intense and doesn’t do relationships, because he fears his dark side and tries to keep his temper and possessiveness on a tight rein. I instantly fell for Gage, he can be controlling, but has a large heart.

Mikayla and Gage both have baggage from their past and are afraid to open up to each other, and take the chance of getting hurt. Mikayla has spent most of her life living in a masculine world and has perfected skills most women aren’t interested in learning. I admire Gage because it doesn’t intimidate him when he learns Mikayla is a better shot than he is.

There are many interesting secondary characters including Gage’s family and Mikayla’s coworkers. Mikayla works with some hot alpha males and I loved the banter between all of them.

From the moment Gage and Mikayla lock eyes, there is an intense chemistry between them. My only complaint with the book is there are times the dialogue between Gage and Mikayla felt forced and unrealistic. Overall this is an entertaining book with a good, well written story. DEADLY TARGET has it all romance, combustible chemistry, suspense, and an entertaining cast of characters.

I am a lover of alpha males with dirty mouths, strong heroines putting alpha males in their place, and the Chicago Blackhawks. I'm a proud hockey mom who can often be found at the hockey rink cheering on my favorite forward, with my kindle close by.
