22260798A ballplayer and a team owner would give anything for a championship—even their hearts…

After inheriting majority ownership of the San Francisco Goliaths baseball team, Hunter Collins wants to prove to herself—and the rest of the league—that she’s got what it takes to build a champion. Her first move is to trade for a hot left-fielder. He’s got it all, speed, power, and a desire to win. Not to mention undeniable charm.

Marco Santiago is tired of being the new player in town. After four teams in six years, he’s facing free agency at the end of the season. He wants nothing more than a long-term contract and a World Series win. Hitting on his new owner probably isn’t the best way to get it, but love may be the most powerful challenger either of them has ever faced…

Warning: Strong language, consummated love scenes, and some baseball clichés.

Reviewer’s Thoughts

WORTH THE TRADE is a fast paced, entertaining romance about a hot, pro baseball player and the woman who owns the team.   Hunter Collins inherited forty percent of the San Francisco Goliaths baseball team three months ago when her father died.  Unfortunately, she’s isn’t taken seriously in this male dominated industry.   Hunter has spent her life around baseball and surprises people with her extensive baseball knowledge.  Marco Santiago is the new left fielder for the Goliaths.  He’s the first player Hunter has acquired since taking over the franchise.  Hunter isn’t the type of woman Marco is usually interested in.  She is all business including her dress and attitude, but something about her draws him in, even though he knows he should keep his distance.   Hunter likes everything about Marco, but knows as the owner of the team she can’t be involved with one of the players.  The more time Marco and Hunter spend together, the more they are attracted to each other.   As the days go by, it becomes harder and harder to fight the strong chemistry simmering between them.

There is combustible heat between Marco and Hunter from the moment they meet.   Marco is a sexy blue eyed baseball player and also a nice guy.  He treats Hunter well, knows how to make her feel sexy and I loved when he bought her lingerie.  I admired how hard Hunter works and how important the team is to her.  Her baseball knowledge was impressive too.  Marco and Hunter are dealing with insecurities from their pasts and the last thing they want is to jeopardize their careers.  Kristina Mathew writes and entertaining, story that I enjoyed from start to finish.
