17822227Jack “Tag” Taglieri is stuck in a rut. His everyday life of fighting fires and no social life is beginning to wear on his nerves. The building tension isn’t just getting to him, but his brothers in the firehouse are starting to notice as well. Being a fireman, his head always has to be in the game, with no distractions from his personal life.

Walt Newcome is a nurse still trying to put his personal life back together again after yet another failed relationship. At his wit’s end with all men in general, he isn’t sure if he should give up entirely or just stop trying.

When Tag is injured in a warehouse fire and Walt is the nurse charged with his care, the question isn’t whether or not Walt will help him on his road to recovery. The question is who will end up healing who as the two become much closer than mere patient and nurse.

Reviewer’s Thoughts

Oh, I loved this book!!

The story was perfect. The main characters were amazing. The situations that brought the men together were absolutely believable and exciting. It shows us that there really is such a thing as love at first sight.

Tag is a firefighter. He’s having some issues, and some of his brothers are concerned that it could effect his ability to focus during a fire. A major event occurs, and Tag winds up in the hospital under the care of Walt, a nurse with some issues of his own. When Tag awakens, he is instantly attracted to Walt, and he begins to pursue him in earnest.

“Hypnotize Me” is an emotional roller coaster. I was glued to every page. Truthfully, I didn’t want it to end, and I don’t say that about many books. Yes, they fall for each other quickly, but it works. Of course, there is some major conflict (I won’t tell you what it is, though, you have to read it yourself), but it’s not overwhelming. The angst is necessary to get Tag and Walt to where they need to be. The love scenes are VERY hot, but they’re also tender. Your Kindle will start smoking, but your heart will start melting.

This is book number two in the Sultry So Cal series, but each one can be read as a stand alone. There are some mentions of other characters from the other books, but you don’t have to read everything in order.

I make no secret of my love for Taylor Brooks. Her books never disappoint me, and this one is no exception. If you love M/M stories…GOOD M/M stories…you owe it to yourself to give her books a try.
