I have not read all of the Misadventures books, but I have enjoyed most of the ones I have read, so I was looking forward to this one. I did like Oliver’s story, but didn’t love it.
I found Oliver’s character entertaining, but had a hard time connecting to him. My reaction was similar to the other characters (Bailey and Skye) and to the relationships Oliver had with both women.
The premise of the story – that a “has been” model at 27 would create a business selling fantasies based on women’s favorite books was cute, but the execution fell short for me. The blurb hinted at a suspense element that I had been looking forward to, but seemed to be missing from the actual story.
Overall, this was an okay book. It was a quick read without any major errors and it ticks most of the boxes for “romance” requirements. The issue may be with me and not connecting with a new-to-me author’s style, so if this is a series you enjoy, please go for it.
