Ms Kelly is a new author for me and I picked this up on description alone. This is a stand-alone work that seems to be connected to other books, but I don’t know if they are from the same series or not.

Ash and Piper are interesting characters and the meet cutes that lead to their forming a business relationship are entertaining. I enjoyed seeing them get to know each other and gradually become more than coworkers.

I really struggled with how to rate this story. On one hand, I enjoyed it more than something that is just “average.” Unfortunately there were several things with the story that kept me from really loving it. One of the biggest issues I had was the way things from both Piper and Ash’s pasts would be brought up and never fully explained or addressed.

Another thing that threw me a little with this book was the title – “The Other Brother” – what does it mean? My experience has shown me that at some point the meaning behind a title comes through in the story and that didn’t happen for me here. I know it’s a silly thing to get hung up on, but it does bug me.

Since this is the first time I’ve read Ms Kelly, I’m not sure if the things that bugged me about the story (outside of those mentioned) are related to her style of storytelling or if they are specific to this book. My overall reaction to Piper and Ash’s story was positive and I found myself wanting to know more about them and the people around them.
