Welcome to a new series by the dynamic duo of Piper Rayne! This time they are introducing us to the men of the Florida Fury hockey team – starting with Captain Aiden Drake.
Aiden’s meet cute with Saige is truly fun and I enjoyed watching these two develop a friendship and potentially more. Aiden and Saige have a great dynamic as friends and that transitioned as we saw them spend time together. We also get to see a great bromance between Aiden and his friends/teammates- I am looking forward to seeing more of that in the future.
The authors behind Piper Rayne did an excellent job of combining the world building of the Florida Fury with the romantic tale of Aiden and Saige. It was nice to get to know some of the supporting cast without the story feeling bogged down with details that don’t involve the main characters.
My Lucky #13 is a fun read that whets the appetite for more of Fury teammates.

The one adjective used to describe my entire hockey career. I prefer to call it hard work, at least I did until my game went to complete crap. I haven’t scored in eight games and my team owner is talking about trading me.
I’ve never believed in superstitions.
Never needed one. I suppose I was “lucky” in that way. But now the best way to refer to me is desperate. I’d wear the same socks for an entire year just to be the high-scoring center I used to be.

I find her and when I get to know her better, I end up spending more time thinking about her than my game, but she’s made it clear she wants no part of me. She’s going to learn that I didn’t become a professional hockey player without having to fight for what I want.
