This was one of those books where you get lost in the story and the characters immediately. Duke, the sheriff of Calamity runs into Lucy while hiking in Yellowstone. They assume it was a one-off meeting and continue on their way only to run into each other again in Calamity. Lucy is determined to start a new life in Calamity and Duke is relentless to learn her secrets.
Duke and Lucy had sparks from the moment they met and that chemistry burned brightly. You knew Duke was going to protect Lucy, no matter what…even if she was trying her hardest to run. I loved them together and I loved how they somehow managed to get everyone around them to love them too.
I enjoyed the start of the Calamity series and I can’t wait to read what happens in book 2.
