Some people greet the day with open arms. Sheriff Sunshine Vicram would rather give it a hearty shove and get back into bed, because there’s just too much going on right now. There’s a series of women going missing, and Sunny feels powerless to stop it. There’s her persistent and awesomely-rebellious daughter Auri, who’s out to singlehandedly become Del Sol’s youngest and fiercest investigator. And then there’s drama with Levi Ravinder—the guy she’s loved and lusted after for years. The guy who might just be her one and only. The guy who comes from a family of disingenuous vipers looking to oust him—and Sunshine—for good.
Like we said, the new day can take a hike.

Oh my word!  I don’t know what to say about this book other than I loved it.  I loved Sunshine, Levi, Auri, Quincy and the rest of the crew in Del Sol.  Darynda Jones ties up the over-arching storyline with the Ravinders while solving the latest criminal goings on in her small town.  Questions were answered and romantic entanglements clarified but in the as my as I love the characters and the series, I’m sad this appears to be the end.  Maybe there will be a different storyline arc for this set of characters and we’ll get more (I can only hope so) or maybe we stay in the same world but we have different leading characters.  I can only hope we get more from Del Sol.  This book (and the entire series) had a knack for making me laugh out loud several times and shed a tear here and there.  It was fun while it lasted.  Until we meet again.

I am a lover of alpha males with dirty mouths, strong heroines putting alpha males in their place, and the Chicago Blackhawks. I'm a proud hockey mom who can often be found at the hockey rink cheering on my favorite forward, with my kindle close by.
