The trope here is pretty clear…. waking up in Vegas married to a stranger. Part of me went into this picturing Brittney Spears of 20+ years ago and was extremely curious as to how the duo behind the Piper Rayne pen name was going to make this work.

I should have known that the resulting read would be a fun one! Nikki is the featured Greene sibling and we’ve seen her (and gal pal Molly) as secondary characters in the first two books, but didn’t know her very well. As we get to know Nikki better, we also get to know MMA champion Logan Stone. These two were great together!

Piper and Rayne did a great job of mining into Nikki’s issues and addressing them while also letting us see a real relationship unfold. The overall feel of this well written story is fun. While we see Nikki (and Logan) address the baggage that they each bring to the table, those items are not the focus. I appreciated the idea that these two decided to take their unusual situation and see what would happen if they gave things a try.

As with the other Green Family books, this is a stand-alone read, but the large family/secondary cast makes numerous appearances. Having read the first two books will add to understanding some of the relationships and quirks of Sunrise Bay, but it is not necessary. I am loving this family and I am looking forward to seeing what happens next in the series.
