Destiny or desire?
Where does your allegiance lie?
I am told my union to the crowned prince will determine the fate of the kingdom, but it isn’t my betrothed who haunts my dreams. It’s the half-breed prince who stands at his side.
He is darkness and sin, and when he whispers promises of wickedness in my ear, I crave a man who I can’t have.
Every thought I have is treasonous. The way my hands ache to touch him deceitful.
Even my dreams make me a traitor to the kingdom I am sworn to protect.
But when the kingdom is attacked, I am forced to make choices I’m not prepared for. Our lies and deception are entangled in the shadows and stars, and as they unravel so shall my fate. Betray a kingdom or betray my heart.

Let’s get this out of the way right from the beginning. This book will end with a cliffhanger…and boy is it a doozy of one. Good thing, we don’t have to wait to terribly long to get the next book (which I’ve already pre-ordered and scheduled to release in November).

Adara is promised to the fae crowned prince because of who she is, the starblessed who is fated to save or destroy the kingdom. What Adara finds is a fiance who is just as cruel as the rumors have said, even while he pretends he’s anything but. And the guard who intrigues her is none other than the crown prince’s half-brother, to who she is very drawn to. Adara is stuck between being true to herself and her attraction to Evren, her fiance’s brother. It’s a sticky situation since most of the time Evren’s treatment of her leaves her with whiplash. But when she finally starts to believe she knows what she’s doing the tables are turned and she discovers she can’t trust anyone.

Evren is a bit of an anti-hero, in my opinion. Just when I thought he acted the way he did with Adara because of what she represented to his brother, he flipped everything upside down. I want to like Evren, I really do. I have to believe his actions are part of a much bigger plan that we don’t understand right now, but are to protect Adara. We’ll see if what I’m thinking comes true or if Evren is the a-hole we’re left thinking he is. If he is, Adara better figure out her powers and show everyone who’s boss.

I am a lover of alpha males with dirty mouths, strong heroines putting alpha males in their place, and the Chicago Blackhawks. I'm a proud hockey mom who can often be found at the hockey rink cheering on my favorite forward, with my kindle close by.
